Creating a Bohemian Garden...Pt.1 The Jungle...

Vertical Jungle Garden
Small Bohemian Garden: Exotic plants
Exotic Bohemian Garden
Exotic Bohemian Garden

I have been a bit absent over the last few weeks for which I apologise, we are slowly moving into our new house and my spare time is taken up with moving a packing, and a lot of procrastinating... One thing I have been day dreaming about is the two huge ceiling to floor windows that look out of my new sitting room onto my little Garden...

Having a garden that I can actually put money into and make great is so exciting, and I have decided I want a mini jungle sanctuary, with plenty of exotic looking plants, but that will cope with the UK climate. I have a beautiful Caster Oil plant on it's way to start off my new jungle theme  ...

Cheap Bohemian style: Pallet sofas...

Affordable low level seating, pallet bench
Pallet bench: Low level seating plus a great places to store books
Pallet sofa bed
Bright and Bold Pallet sofa
Outdoors: pallet sofa
I love deep low level seating with plenty of cushions and have been on the look out for a new sofa that is not only both of those but also relatively cheap. I found the top picture this morning and have now fallen in love with the idea of having a pallet sofa. Cheap, unusual, and even better - eco-friendly...

I am however, more tempted to use this as garden seating, What do you guys think?

Houseplants

Window garden: Mini cacti garden
Bohemian Home: Houseplants and a great view
Conservatory plants
Houseplants
Where the wild things are: You can never have too many houseplants
I love this Houseplant covered retro style table

This post is for my friends Anna and Shaun (check out his awesome webcomic here) who are moving house and asked for a post about houseplants. So here it is....

It is my opinion that no house (or workplace) should be without houseplants, not only do they clean the air around us but studies by the Washington State University showed that people with houseplants in their workplace were 12% more productive,  more relaxed, had lower blood pressure and were less stressed than those without.

Sadly I don't think it will catch on in hospital wards here in the UK where patient flowers have been banned in many hospitals. Personally I think this is ridiculous as when ill being in a calming environment would surely promote well being....

Hammock love from Hamanica ...

Bohemian hammock galore My personal favourite, green and blue macramé hammock

Stunning white macramé hammock

Awesome bohemian rainbow  macrame hammock
black hand woven macrame, crotchet hammock
How amazing are these macrame Hammocks from etsy store Hamanica? I just love the top one (which I had posted before but not known the source).  They are hand woven, made from natural cotton and come in a variety of shades and patterns, you can even get little ones for babies!!!

With the sun finally coming out to play I am pretty darn tempted... especially as they are for some reason so cheap?!?

Casa Consuelo

Isn't this home amazing? What a place to live. With Autumn appearing almost overnight here in the UK, the lazy hazy days of summer seem so far away.

This bohemian Spanish home Casa Consulo is on my list of properties to dream about over the rainy cold winter months. I didn't get a chance to go to India or Morocco this year as planned, so next year I am going to be planning a biggy!

Any of you guys get to go away anywhere nice?

In The Night Garden

I am finally back from a lovely holiday visiting my parents in Snowdon National Park. They have a lovely 13th Century cottage 15 miles from the nearest town, Heaven!

Opulent Bohemian Gardens

Big or small, there is no excuse to have a weed infested garden, paint the concrete blue, put some fern in a large terracotta pot and get some Moroccan tea-light holders, or storm lamps and you are on your way to a bohemian paradise.

I am in love with the top picture, those rust coloured cushions against the green is so stunning.
