Interior Designed..... Cabin Life

This cabin is dreamy isn't it? I love the way each room has its own theme, subtlety using textiles and pieces from around the world..... Indian block print textiles in the bedroom,  a Moroccan tray and kilim rug in the sitting room. My favorite room in the house is definitely the bathroom. I love the warm mustard paintwork and the Bhavacakra above the bath, this room feels the most warm and natural of all the cabins rooms. It feels like it belongs.

I say 'belongs' as the other rooms in the cabin although stunning do definitely look like rooms that have been put together by an interior designer rather than lovingly put together over time. The brief I guess was to give their holiday getaway a 'bohemian cabin' vibe... It just feels a little polished.... and some of the rooms a little incongruous... white carpet in a cabin!

... that is not to say I dont love it..... I would jump at the chance to live here. I would just have to scruff it up a bit, add some more house plants and change the hunting lodge feel of the bedroom.

Moon to Moon on Apartment Therapy

I was totally honored to discover that Moon to Moon had been featured on Interior Design website Apartment therapy in their article "5 Bohemian Design Blogs You May Not Be Reading (Yet!)". I especiially liked the description :)

Wherever you look these days, it seems like bohemian style is the thing. If you are among the folks who just can't get enough of the 1970s, patterns, plants, weavings, geometric shapes, and the comfortable clutter of bohemian interiors, here are five more places to get your daily dose of inspiration.....

One of my favorite recent finds, Moon to Moon is written by Gabi, a blogger with impeccable taste. If you don't believe me, believe Christie's Auction House, which recently invited her to design a room (see it here) using items from their November catalog. Moon to Moon features a little bit of something for everyone: history, inspiration, shopping recommendations, house tours, and decor roundups.

Impeccable taste... i can roll with that!

Thank you to Apartment Therapy

The Yurt of .... Erin Tavin and Nathan Stein

I pretty much squealed with delight when I found this tour of Erin Tavin (of Clothing shop Tavin) and Nathan Stein's Echo Beach Yurt. I would love to have a little hideaway space in my back garden to fill with pretty textiles and purchases from my travels!

The couple were inspired by their own travels and decided a yurt would be the perfect comfy space they needed as a backyard chill area. The dreamy 320 square feet yurt is made from Douglas Fir throughout and was raised by Nathan and his friends, the couple have also added two porches and french doors.

Certainly puts my humble shed to shame!!

The Yoga retreat home of... Paul Manza

I love Style like u. Mainly because the homes and people rarely share my aesthetic, but every now and then a house or mind set of a 'closet' study/subject totally resonates with me. This home and yoga retreat of Yoga teacher Paul Manza is one of those houses and this calm, thoughtful space and Paul's interview have come at a time when I needed them...

I have to be honest recently I have been feeling a little uninspired for Moon to Moon. I have sat for hours planning posts that do not materialize into anything.... bloggers block maybe? usually it will be one image that will talk to me and I will be off at a million miles an hour searching for images but this hasn't happened for weeks... a car that has had to be scrapped, a change from working on a slower paced children's ward back to hectic 12 hours shifts in A&E (ED) and trying for a baby have all consumed my mind and I think I have forgotten to breathe and relax. I haven't done yoga for months :(

Worn and loved with an abundance of natural healing energy,  inspiring contemplation and reflection, that is what a home should be.

Relax. Breathe

How stunning is this bohemian style London townhouse? It is owned by LondonInterior designer Sera Loftus and is available to rent from Shootfactory for films and T.V programmes. I just wish I was making a film... This is pretty much my dream home.

I love that the first room is so crisp and white and full of overgrown imposing houseplants, and then the contrast of  other room is warm and full of rich reds and luscious velvet .

Peacock chairs, vintage fabrics, houseplants and shell Chandeliers, not to mention that wonderful wooden tiling... whats not to love....
