Almost famous.....

Almost Famous: The elusive penny lane

Almost famous, what can I say? Great film, great music, even better clothes and the elusive Penny Lane. I loved this film (and wanted to be Penny) when it came out and am sure I was not the only girl to go out and buy and Afghan coat and drape a scarf over my lamp and dig out my parents Vinyl.....

It was also the first time Philip Seymour Hoffman graced my screen as the infamous Lester bangs, although it is probably not the film Philip Seymour Hoffman wanted to be remembered for for me this is the one that stands out to me.... with so many beautiful tribute from fellow actors, it is clear to see he will be sadly missed..

The Home of.... Amelie Poulain

Amelie Poulains apartment in the film Amelie
Michael Sowa's wonderful prints from the Film Amelie

I love Amelie. Not only is it a wonderfully eccentric story, but with a rich palette of Reds, Greens, yellows and creams with the occasional splattering of electric blue, Amelie's apartment is one of my all time favorite bohemian film interiors. As a shy, home-body Amelie has developed a rich interior style with beautiful contrasting wallpapers and textiles and my personal favorite is the artwork by German Artist Michael Sowa.

The Hobbit Holes of Hobbiton....

How cute is this little Hobbit Hole of Hobbiton complete with potted Garden?
Hobbit hole: Window and pots
Hobbit Hole of Hobbiton
Hobbiton sign
Hobbit Hole: Beautiful Hobbit house
Hobbit Hole: Attention to details, love that door handle
Hobbit Hole: House details, drying flowers above the door
Hobbit Hole: Hobbit house entrance - I want to sit there with a pipe and a pint of Ale

The pictures are of the actual Hobbit Holes made for the filming of the new Hobbit movie released later this year. The studio are allowing the public to take a tour of the Hobbit village which has been built on private farm land near Matamata. Al of the pictures are from this awesome dedicated Hobbit house Tumblr which I have spent hours dreaming over.....I am so in love, I WANT a hobbit house......

Hands up who's moving to Hobbiton with me?
