Conversation Pits...

Conversation Pit: Imagine a world with No TV or Ipads where people actually talk :) : Jasper Conrans house

The TV and modern technology has taken over the home hasn't it? Where as at one time the sitting/living room was a room focused around a fire where families and friends could converse now we are all facing that big flat screen TV whilst tapping away on our Ipads. I am starting to get really bored with TV, and other than a few awesome series (Game of Thrones, The Wire, Breaking Bad etc...) really would not miss my TV anymore if it disapeared into the ether.

I am all for the idea of a conversation pit like the ones above, especially the one in the top image, then even if the conversation did get dry I would have the hills to look at :)

What do you guys reckon, should we blow up our TV's?

P.s ... Havin a night mare with adding links on my new computer so will add them when figured this thing out but for now all the images can be found on my PInterest... link top left of blog :)

Could you sell Everything and start again?

My uncle has just sold his house and the people buying it like the whole place so much that they offered to buy all the furniture as well as the building. My uncle said yes.

I have been pondering this a lot, and am not sure what I would say...I may not have the nicest furniture in the world but I mean, it took me 6+ months to find the 'perfect bed' and then I waited 3 more months until it went in the sale. Most of my items were charity shop, thrift shop, car boot, street or ebay finds, that I could never find again.. these items were each a moment of excitement, a bargain or freebee or an item that I worked hard to save for.

... am i just being a typical Taurean and putting too much weight into material items?

Would you sell everything and start again? Would it be a wonderful liberating experience or your your worst nightmare?

for me the jury is still out..

Cheap Bohemian style: Pallet sofas...

Affordable low level seating, pallet bench
Pallet bench: Low level seating plus a great places to store books
Pallet sofa bed
Bright and Bold Pallet sofa
Outdoors: pallet sofa
I love deep low level seating with plenty of cushions and have been on the look out for a new sofa that is not only both of those but also relatively cheap. I found the top picture this morning and have now fallen in love with the idea of having a pallet sofa. Cheap, unusual, and even better - eco-friendly...

I am however, more tempted to use this as garden seating, What do you guys think?

Plenty of cushions,  large ethnic rugs, plants and a bookcase bursting at the seams, my idea of a perfect siting room! The top one is my favourite I love wooden homes and leather furniture.

I have had lots of emails asking where to buy home wears, I though rather than produce a list I thought I would try and put together some little themed purchases after some of the posts with a variety of shops and price ranges, hopefully there will be something for all budgets. If there is anything you would like me to seek out drop me an email  moontomoon@live.co.uk

p.s You will have to excuse my photoshop skills, I will try and brush up my skills (you would never believe I did a photography degree would you?)

1) Aborg Rug from Ikea

2) Egyptian Moroccan Mother Of Pearl Table from a selection by Gouda78 on ebay

3) This fabulous Vintage Suzani cushion is from a selection on etsy, this particular one is from YASTK

Bohemian garden: All of a sudden I want to drink champagne cocktails :)
What can I say but wow! What luxury! I love these bohemian style rooms all from Martyn Lawrence-Bullard design. I have a bit of an obsession with rich velvet sofas and vintage rugs at the moment and that top picture ticks both those boxes.

I am off to my parents in Snowdonia for my Birthday but will be back on Sunday to anounce the winner of the Bohemia Kilim bag Give away

Bright and Bold Bohemian Sofas ....

Bright and Bold multi coloured Suzani Cushions add a bit of Spice to a plain coloured room

Bright bold Turqouise sofa

Things are still moving forward (slowly) with the purchase of my house. The house is actually in a nice condition and has been decorated well which, although you might think is a bonus but I was looking forward to a bit of a project (ha ha I am never happy).

I have been thinking of ways to add a bit of personality to the whiter than white sitting room and a bright and bold sofa or throw is looking like a good option. I have always wanted a green velvet chesterfield so i am keeping my ebay eyes open for a bargain.

What do you guys think? Bright and bold or neutral and relaxed?

On a totally separate matter I just wanted to say congratulations to my lovely Blogging buddies (and moon to moon sponsors) Lizzy and Spelly ( aka Spell Designs) for getting their stunning bags snapped up by Free People... Woo hoo!!!

Wouldn't it be great to have a room full of cushions and bean bags instead of sofas?
