Recline on Rattan Beds...

Vintage rattan Day Bed
A Reclining Peacock Chair!!!
As you may have gathered by my peacock Chair obsession, I do have a bit of a thing for Rattan/Wicker furniture, and recently it has seen a massive surge in popularity. The main benefit being that people are seling and showing off their beautiful vintage pieces.... which means more eye candy on Pinterest and Ebay!!

I was personally blown away by Vanessa's double peacock chair (as seen here), but a reclining peacock chair.... wow!!

Double Peacock Chairs....

The lovely Vanessa from Honey Wood Vintage and her beautiful Twin Peacock chair

Ever since seeing Vanessa from the rather fabulous HoneyWood Vintage's  double Peacock chair I have become a little obsessed. I could however only find one other image on the web! Turns out unlike their single Peacock chair cousins these retro beauties are a real rarity!

Vintage Homes: Rainbow Rooms from the 1970's

Vintage Interiors: Rainbow bathroom From the "Golden Homes" magazine, c1972

 Wow!!

These rooms are something else arent they? I have actually been saving up crazy trippy rainbow and stripey images from the 1970's for the last year until I had enough to make a blog post about.

If I am honest i wouldn't want one in my house but I love elements, like the rainbow floor int he kids room

Closet: Vintage Indian Gauze dresses...

Closet Style: Vintage Indian Gauze dresses and Afghan treasures
Closet: Arranged by colour
Indian Gauze, Lace and plenty of texture
Bohemian and Vintage finds
Hmong, Indian and other beautiful textiles from across the world

Vintage Indian Gauze dresses from India: Phool, Peacock and Anokhi
I have always been obsessed with clothes, I guess it runs in the family. My aunt was a Biba and  Ossie Clark 'in-house model' and my mum is a big time clothing gal. Although I used to be adventurous with my clothes some where along the line I started wearing a lot of black and it is a comfort place I am making the move to get out of.

Although I like more unusual clothing I always wonder if I could pull it off, and black is so lovely and safe! Last week I took the plunge and purchased myself a beautiful Vintage Indian Gauze shirt and a waistcoat from Blooming Dreamer and was so thrilled I am hooked, in fact I have just ordered a vintage Phool dress too :)

Closets do look so much prettier in Colour.. don't you agree?

The relaxing home of... Lauren and Chad

Macrame Planter

Beautiful light and airy Master bedroom

Mid century Modern hanging planter
Guest room
Up close: succulents and air plants
The sitting Room, with an original Eames chair (sigh)

I had re-pinned a number of pictures from this house before finding a working link that took me through to Apartment therapy and discovering it was all the same house. The home is owned by Vintage shop 'Dear Golden' owners Lauren and Chad and is situated in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

The bathroom and that beautiful relaxing bedroom are the two rooms that really caught my eye. Obviously it has been tidied, de-cluttered and styled within an inch of it's life for the photo shoot but I still really like the vibe of this place.

If like me you are a bit obsessed with that stunning mid-century modern planter, you can get similar designed by Justina Blakney here

The home of... Chloe and Chase

Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith
Chase in the most beautiful Peacock Chair

I love Chloes work! Her shop SugarHigh Lovestoned, her images on her blog and tumblr, the photoshoots/lookbooks for SugarHigh, they are all so inspiring , so I knew her home would be pretty epic....

...So I have been really excitedly anticipating this Free People shoot for ages now, Chloe posted a sneeky peek picture on instagram some time back and I have been checking the Free people blog religiously.... and I am not disappointed :)

Chloe shares the home with her boyfriend and equally as talented and gorgeous partner in Vintage store Stoned Immaculate Vintage Chase. What is not to love about this Topanga Canyon home? Vintage leather sofa's, shaggy rugs, a peacock chair, beaded curtains, jimi on the wall and a heap of awesome vintage vinyl... Perfect!!

To view more of Chloe and Chases home and watch a cute little video about the couple visit Free People here...
