I have two weeks off and have decided to paint my bathroom 'a colour'. It has white tiles and fixtures so I am thinking turquoise would look good, but then that Lilac in the top picture is so pretty..
What would you do?
I painted out downstairs a beautiful light-ish green called "Sweetgrass". It looks great with all of the warm wood in there and the old white basin sink and white toilet. I do think the turquoise would look great with all the white... I'm not much of a purple person, though it does look good in the top image, the lilac, the way they did it.
A lilac-ish colour for sure, but stronger. Maybe cornflower blue - bathrooms are normally smaller than other rooms and that colour is so zingy it bounces of itself like magic.
every house we ever "did up" I put white tiles and white fittings in the bathroom. The last 2 houses have tongue and groove round the lower half of the wall. Then I go mad with colour, towels, blinds, shower curtain, funky rag rugs and of course the walls. If you get tired of your original colour a few years down the line, it's simple enough to change your paint and accessories, without the cost of replacing the tiles or fittings. Enjoy!
turquoise would be the perfect colour for my bathroom! we do have these ugly white standard kind of tiles half way on our walls, so I could imagine painting the upper part in that colour! xx
I think it depends whether you want a warm or cool feeling in the bathroom. I live in a cold climate, so I like warmer colors. Whether warm or cool color, make it bold! Bathrooms often look too sterile for my taste.
The second picture has a green sink, green tiles, green picture (trucks). That is really cute! It might be a good idea for a young boy’s comfort room inside his room. The last photo as well could really do well as a young sailor boy’s bathroom.
The last photo looks good! My brother’s bathroom is filled with different shades of blue and its tiles are turquoise. If I were to choose what color, I’d also love to go with blue! Aside from that it’s my favorite color, blue is very calming and gentle to the eyes.

I love sea-colored bathrooms. Ours is painted a very light blue/green.

I've always dreamed of having a bath tub in my home in senior retirement communities.
