The botanical home of.... Musician Mileece Petre

Bohemian Living: The airstream home of Musician Milcee

Surely It couldn't get much better than this? An airstream caravan situated in your own mini botanical garden!

This dreamy bohemian habitat is the Home of English artist and musician Mileece Petre. Mileece is a multi-media and sonic artist who attaches electrodes to leaves and turns the data collected into musical notes so it is no surprise that her home be such a wonderful jungle.. I am totally captivated!

Coffee tables... center piece or dumping ground?

I haven't actually got a coffee table. My parents never really had one either, probably due to a pack of crazy Deerhounds (aka, the best dogs in the world) with waggling tails at coffee table height.

I really love all these pictures and have been wondering if it is what my living room needs, a well worn vintage wooden table to 'tie the room together', in reality though are they useful or just another Interior design concept that is great in theory but in reality, is another place to dump papers, accumulate dirty mugs and only making a well assembled appearance when visitors arrive?

Do you have an immaculate well presented coffee table or is yours a dumping ground too?

Under your feet... Rugs and tiles..

I have been taking pictures of my feet on my travels for years. I am a bit of a lone ranger at times and don't take a good selfie (too much pouting and not photogenic) . I have been saving up other peoples 'foot selfies' for a few months and thought I would share the best of the feet and beautiful rugs and tiles.
Plus one of my own foot selfies at the end...

On a separate note...Only 3 days until the full moon, and this month sees the return of the Full Moon Giveaway... this one is super awesome so watch this space...

What to Compost...

I have been in my new home for a year and shamefully I have only just ordered myself a compost bin for the garden. In Bristol we do have a weekly compost collection from the council that goes to a large composting site, so it's not like it has been going in the bin, but it is defiantly time that my garden shares in my juicing, fresh coffee and avocado obsessions.

I love the list above found in Pinterest, sadly I cant find the original link. I would love a full scale colour picture of this on the side of my fridge.

Stealth Pickup Camper

"I took a 7 week coast to coast road trip after being laid off from Boeing. I didn’t have a camper but realized that being able to pull off the road at a rest or truck stop was the way to go to make the trip affordable. With a few sheets of 1/2” plywood and misc. hardware this is what I came up with. The effort was well worth the time and materials."

Chelsea Hotel

Nico and Robert Mapplethorpe
The Chelsea Hotel has seen a lot of action: Mark Rothko lived there. Sid Vicious killed Nancy Spungen there, Arthur C Clarke wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Dylan Thomas drank himself to death there. Other famous lodgers included Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Coen, Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Allan Ginsberg, Edie Sedgewick and Chales Bukowski to name a few... and of course there is the Leonard Coen song recently covered by Lana Del Rey (which despite myself I like)

I have been collecting images for the last month of the infamous hotel after finishing one time Chelsea hotel resident Patti Smith's heart wrenching book 'Just Kids', about her friendship and relationship with Photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. If you haven't read it, you must. Just like Patti's music, it is well written , raw and honest... I haven't cried so much at the ending of a book for ages :)

Moroccan Inspired Seating...

Beautiful Bohemian seating area
Ultimate bohemian reading nook
Bohemian moroccan seating area
Kilim pillows, sheepskin throw and a corner seating area
Love the vinyl storage under the chairs

In the last post I featured conversation Pits, although beautiful they are rather large and probably not practical or financially possible in the normal home.

These Moroccan inspired seating areas above are a little more practical whilst a lot friendlier on the budget. A couple of Kilim pillows, a throw or two, maybe a small sheepskin, a worn teak or Jali table and you are on your way. Bohemian bliss!!
