Native Funk & Flash : An Emerging Folk Art1 974
Here are some pictures from the Iconic Native Funk & Flash: An emerging Folk Art from 1974 by Alexandra Jacopetti. One of my all time favourite books !!
Oh yeah! I used to check this one out from the library when I was in high school. the other one I was always checking out was Rolling Homes: Handmade Houses On Wheels, by Jane Lidz.
It is fun to see that everything old is new again, growing up in the late 1960's I recall many of these styles and often smile inward when I see similar items today offered to a new generation. This post makes me smile so glad I found your site.
Where HAVE you been?!? What a great post! Stimulates my imagination.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a Flashback and I'm loving it... Iconic Funky Style is my all time Fav Fashion Statement!

ReplyDeleteJust think, that blue-eyed hunk in the second photo is probably near 70 years old now. (sigh).
ReplyDeleteI just bought this book (an earlier edition that includes all the original photos)...Love it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!! LOVE this! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the large crochets sleeves, like Ron's Mam (Harry Potter), I dream I'd find someone who could make this for me ...
