I have always wanted to live on a houseboat and have many times dreamt about getting an old Dutch barge. These pictures just confirm what I am missing....

All images are from the book:

I am lucky enough to be in the process of renovating an old barge to live on and at the moment live on an old fashioned yacht, so loved these pictures. Thank you xxxx

gorgeous thank you.
i am a water baby-the sea, rivers, strams, ponds...you will only get me out with a crook!
my ancestors were mariners, bargemen and fishermen going back (as far as i have gone so far) to the 1500's, my grandpa was a navy man who when on land lived on a houseboat. my dad has built boats, painted boats (as in oil pints) and when i was young my dad bought one for us but my mum refused to live on it...so sad for what could have been!
i wish i had one myself...

There's always something about the idea of a portable home that is so fun and attractive to me.. especially if it looks like the one in the first picture. All those plants and the stained glass window- more perfect than that?

I once lived for three years on a sailingboat and I m constantly longing to get back there. Now I live in the wood in the deeps swedish countryside but whooo how I miss the water, the sea. Nothing like living on the sea.
Theeese boathose homes...I like. Thank you.

I am adding you to my blogroll and hope people follow the link to your beautiful site. I may be commented twice as the comment box jumped away. I own a copy of the houseboat book and I love best the same photos that you do.
