Library Sitting/ living Room with Moroccan pouffes and Persian rug, Via maison Boheme |
I love the eclectic shabby-ness of these living / sitting rooms, perfect for lounging around with a good book.
I am a real hoarder. As long as I remember my parents have been big collectors, getting obsessed with a particular type of pottery or glassware and searching antiques shops for that next exiting find (I used to love going to weekend antique fairs, my sister and I would look at the pretty vintage jewellery pretending which pieces we were going to buy).
Unlike my parents I never buy anything of worth or value, but I am such a magpie for anything un-British looking. My dream home is a dusty, eclectic treasure chest of rare findings from all over the world that I would have found in an Indiana Jones/ Victorian explorer type way :)
Sadly my boyfriend is more of a minimalist type of dude.

Gosh...I think I need a sitting room!!!
the first one, omg, I love it! maybe this is a nice way to store jewelry xx
I want to live in that library
Love the one with the books. Not too sure about the instruments of torture on the walls of the first pic though... reminds me of that one with guns at the end of the bed you posted a few weeks ago!
Torture instruments? My goodness. I think they are just random tools/ garden instruments/ cogs etc. Funny how people interpret pictures so differently.
I'm with you on the last one! Definitely a room I'd find hard to leave. Love the scale of things in it: the enormous clock and giant pot are so fantastic; then so are all the sumptuous chairs.... oooh, heaven is a velvety sofa :) I want to see the rest of the house!! ...and personally I think minimalism and junky hoarding are a perfect combination as they create balance if they respect each others' needs...
your boyfriend and mine are both minimalist, while we like to collect. too silly!
I love fun rooms like this. my next house will basically be a sitting room.....all of it.
I can't wait!
thanks for sharing such cool spaces!
That last one is definitely my fav! LOVE the carpet and the huge pot... Luckily, my BF is no minimalist either :-) so we're slowely working our way there!
Oh, yes! If you combine the last one with the one with all the books, it would be bliss indeed!
Heaven is a room full of books, so I will be quite happy with that room :)
Wow - that last photo is the stuff my dreams are made of.
Wow! OBSESSED with the Library Sitting Room. I would love to be surrounded with tons of books like that... absolutely gorgeous.
awesome! love rooms with lots of colorful things to look at. it's a visual smorgasbord!
Anything with kilims is great! Love them!
I'm the same, I love collecting anything that looks ethnic or just plain weird and the whole house is a mish-mash of everything from French boudoir, Turkish opium den to Rajasthani palace. x
~minimalist or not...one can always dream...love these rooms atht you shared...comforting the seem to be...you could sit in there with a hot cup a tea and simply be...much love light and blessings~
