Isn't this the most beautiful idea?

It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite
literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where
anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.

Little Free Library was born in 2009 when Todd Bol of Hudson, Wisconsin, built a model of a one room schoolhouse as a tribute to his mother, a former school teacher who loved reading.  He filled it with books and put it on a post in his front yard.  His neighbors and friends loved it.  He built several more and gave them away.  Each one had a sign that said FREE BOOKS.

Little Free Library has grown rapidly in the last 5 years and the not-for-profit organizations original goal of 2,150 libraries has been surpassed with over 15,000 Little Free Libraries worldwide in over 40 countries!!

If you would like tio find a Little Free Library in your area, create one or would just to look at the full story and show your support please visit Little Free They totally deserve your support

There a couple of whimsical book nooks in my friend's neighbourhood - in weird synchronicity, we ended up dropping off a few books just this past Saturday!

Another friend is in the process of building a book nook for her own neighbourhood - I sent this to her for inspiration! love it!

we stayed at Westbury-sub-Mendip before Christmas and there was one in an old red phone box. I popped home, got a carrier bag full of books and swapped them all :-D
