Starting at $1200, they are well out of my price range but they are super stunning. I am so pleased bamboo and rattan is having a little moment in the Interiors world, I love it!!

I am more than just a little bit in love with the Sinnerlig pendant lamp from Ikea, and it seems I am not alone. I have seen the rattan pendant lamp pop up in a fair few interiors over the last year and I am tempted to get one for my hallway.

The simple rattan design is a great modern take on a 60's favourite and I am all in favour of encouraging the return of Rattan...

What do you guys think?

Talk about a statement Light! These beautiful Moroccan brass lamps are great aren't they? I love the blue beadwork next to the brass. Sadly I think they are a little big for my house.

Ball Pendant Lights.... I love them!

Every room in my house (but my entrance hall) has one! Large paper (Rice) or rattan balls grace every ceiling.... Even little Alex has a Habitiat MoonBuzz Light.

To me they resemble the Moon in the night sky, and I just love their simplicity... the fact that they are ridiculously cheap is just a bonus!

What do you recon? Love them or remind you of being a Student?

When I was younger my friend Charlotte's parents house had a kitchen extension that was kind of like the first picture. I was so in love with the light airy-ness(?) of that room and have always thought that eventually this is what I would like to aim for in my own home.  It doesn't matter what colour the walls or how many beautiful furnishings you have if a room is too bright or too dingy it wont help you achieve the chilled out vibe you are looking for. Lighting can be used to great effect to improve not only the look of a room but also your mood.
