Just Chilling.......

I am currently away for the weekend in Cornwall, sipping tea eating a yummy fruit salad and looking out the huge Victorian bay window of the Fowey Hotel, admiring the view of the windy choppy sea...it may be raining and it may be cold but this is probably, the last chance I will get to get away before little Moon comes along and to be honest it's perfect !

So this post is brought to you via an ipad mini, if the photos are a funny size or the links don't work they are all from my Pinterest account (see link on left side bar) I will sort them when I get home.

Wishing you also a chilled out weekend

The Bohemian Tarot Wagon of.... Erin Smith aka Vardo Tarot

Erin in her Gypsy Tarot Wagon

Vardo Tarot
Vardo Tarot is a beautiful converted truck built by Tarot reader Erin Smith, after a flash of inspiration to read tarot full time and build this beautiful Gypsy style Tarot Wagon. Last spring, with the help of a carpenter friend, work began on the transformation of the truck...

"The craftsmanship is phenomenal. Everyone who comes on board is thoroughly charmed by
the space.  I’m completely blessed to have had the help of such dear and gifted friends. The
love that went into it’s building really comes across in the energy of the space. We finished it
about five months ago "

I too am totally charmed by the truck, full of beautifully crafted furnishings and textiles the truck has an antique feel, it is hard to believe it is only 5 months old!

When discovering Vardo Tarot  over at The Local Rose I totally lucked out, not only did I find these beautiful images but also The Local Rose, a beautiful website ran from Santa Monica resident Shiva Rose, packed full of inspiring stories and recepies..

Etsy Focus... Kitchen Medicine and Moon Cycle Charts from Chelsea Grange Art

Kitchen Medicine Poster, from Chelsea Grange Art on Etsy

The Kitchen Medicine poster (measures 13x19 inches) is a collaboration between community herbalist, Brittany Nickerson of Thyme Herbal  and artist/illustrator Chelsea Granger. This poster is part of our Everyday Living which came from the desire to make beautiful and informative teaching and reference tools for the home. The Kitchen Medicine poster is a place to learn about the medicinal qualities and uses of a few common herbs that can be found in lots of kitchens, gardens and supermarkets.
;The 10 Herbs illustrated on this poster are: Basil, Dill, Rosemary, Oregano, Parsley, Mint, Cilantro, Thyme, Sage and Tarragon!
The accessibility of these herbs is exciting and magical, potentially even shifting how we see the world- when we can begin to see and use common herbs as medicine we begin to take health and healing into our own hands, homes and communities. We hope this poster can be a helpful tool and also inspire curiosity and a sense of wonder and awe from the plants growing all around us. This is folk medicine- full of magic and wonder and possibility, it is about reconnecting with old wisdom so that we may better take care of ourselves, each other, and the land we live on.

2014 Moon Calender
Our 2014 Moon Calendar (measures 9"x24" inches) is inspired by the night sky and the giant magic moon above. The phases of the moon are integrally connected to process and ritual. Like the phases of the moon, our lives are full of patterns and cycles. An awareness of the moon’s phases allows us to embody this cycle of birth, rebirth and decay in our daily lives. The 2014 Moon Calendar includes information and lore written by community herbalist Brittany Nickerson of Thyme Herbal about the different phases of the moon and how to support and honor one’s process throughout these changing phases.

A Mattress on the Floor....

Mattress on the floor, Styling by Twig Hutchson

Mattress on the floor: Styling by Urban Outfitters
Theresa Martinat's apartment

Just off the floor
Yellow Quilt

When I first started Moon to Moon I had been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for years. By buying a bed about a year ago I felt that I was finally an adult, no longer a poor student. I have to admit though I do kind of miss it. Obviously, being 5 months pregnant, it is not practical to go back to the low level, but I guess the mattress on the floor does have its charm, a reminder of when life was a little bit less complex, and a little bit less grown up.... Eeeek!!

What do you guys think? Bohemian Cool or Student Slumming?

A Charming Brighton Cottage...

A beautiful Bohemian Brighton Home

Small but perfectly formed. This stunning little cottage has bags of charm that make up for it's small interior, plus it is in my birth place of Brighton (often dubbed the British San Fransisco) which, makes it brilliant in my opinion.

Claire and Mark the current owners have transformed the Grade 2 listed home back to its former glory after it was 'modernised' by the previous owners....

"The previous owners of the cottage, built around1645, had bought it as a starter home. "They set about trying to make it into a typical square box more suited to a new house. Their main aim seemed to be to remove as many traces of the original features as possible," Claire remembers. "The walls were painted lavender, but the first thing we did when we moved in was to rip up the bright purple carpet that was in the front room and all the way up the stairs." Fortunately the couple were able to peel off the smothering layers of 'improvements' and restore the integrity of the original building, reinstating what they could and adding reclaimed, recycled and responsibly sourced items wherever possible. "The staircase is made from solid oak sourced locally in Sussex," says Claire with pride."

Etsy Focus... Macrame Wall hangings from Slow Down Productions..

Etsy Focus: Beautiful Bohemian Macrame Wall and Window Hanging
Macrame Hanging Planter
These beautiful handmade Macramé goodies are made by Rachel from Independent etsy shop Slow Down Productions. I love the Macramé wall hanging, and living on a busy road love the idea of hanging it in the window to blot out the passing traffic, much prettier than the great British Lace curtain!

A Beautiful Eclectic Home....

Embarrassingly I can't tell you a single factual detail about this beautiful bohemian home, not even who's it is or where it is, as I found the images on a site that is solely written in Spanish!

However, it is so beautiful that I thought I would share it and if any of you are Spanish speaking and lovely enough to tell me then that would be great :)

The original images are from the fabulous Casa Chaucha here!!
