The Humble Shower

When choosing a new home a shower would never high be on my list of priorities, whereas its friend the Bath would be at the very very top, a long with a garden. However in my new house I have no shower. I do have a beautiful Victorian bath with beautiful taps, but no shower, and let me tell you washing my hair is a nightmare, I have even had 5 inches cut off to make my life easier.

So now I shower at the gym (which at least means my attendance is up) and for my next house I will be looking not only for a garden and a bath but a shower.

I am finally back from a lovely holiday visiting my parents in Snowdon National Park. They have a lovely 13th Century cottage 15 miles from the nearest town, Heaven!

Opulent Bohemian Gardens

Big or small, there is no excuse to have a weed infested garden, paint the concrete blue, put some fern in a large terracotta pot and get some Moroccan tea-light holders, or storm lamps and you are on your way to a bohemian paradise.

I am in love with the top picture, those rust coloured cushions against the green is so stunning.

Help me build an Ewok village?

Okay, so realistically it's not going to happen, but it would be so much fun wouldn't it?

Hope you all have a great weekend

What is a bedroom?

I think the bedroom will always be my favourite room, one I associate with safety and privacy. I suppose as children, unless you shared, it is the only room where we can call our own.

I remember as a teenager sat on my bed listening to Bjork, Nirvana and Massive Attack on my tape player and reading rolling stone, or vox. I had a massive collage on my wall of all my favourite musicians, actors, films and places, and would light some incense and candles, and feel safe and happy in my own little domain, away from the pressures of High school.

As we get older and share our lives and bedrooms with others, it takes on a new form and a new layer of privacy, and we have to relinquish some of our style for man objects that are ugly and purely functional (ick). It is still the place I cherish for my me time, to meditate and light some incense when the world is getting a little bit too intense, to take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture.

What are your ideas?
