The Houseboat of... Illustrator Tabby Booth..

The beautifully eclectic houseboat home of London based illustrator Tabby Booth

Turquise and red!... Featuring one of Tabby's mugs (far left) available from her shop
The cozy bed nook, separated by a Indian Hanging brought for £1.50... bargain :)

For any regular readers that read my ramblings, you will know that I have a bit of an obsession with houseboats and spend hours on boat sale websites dreaming about buying a dutch barge. I have to say I think I may have found the perfect little home, sadly it is already taken...

This houseboat named The Long haired Eel is the Home of London based illustrator Tabby Booth and is in my eyes perfect. Bright paint, kilim and sheepskin rugs, tuns of books, a wood burner and a bed nook!! This is the coziest boat I have seen!

Tabby moved onto the river last year into a rented room , before taking the leap and buying the long-haired Eel. The boat was in her words "a complete shell of crap, and we have cleaned it out and built it up from scratch ourselves... it's not quite finished yet but we're getting there slowly"

The home of... Fox Fodder Farms, Taylor Patterson

My first job was helping my mum in the small florists shop she worked in, in Shrewsbury. Althoug I spent a lot of the time with my hands in freezing buckets of water, it was Valentines day weekend, I loved it, and since then I have loved cut flowers and buy a bunch nearly every week.

I have a lot of admiration for florists and think in a parallel universe that is the other me's job. This is the home and studio of Brooklyn florist, Taylor Patterson. The whole article and collection of beautiful photographs are over at Sous Style... A lovely interview accompanies the photos, check it out here  and be inspired....

The Papasan Chair...

The papasan chair

A cosy papasan chair, perfect for nursing a baby

Spell and the Gypsy collective, Papasan Chair

I got a Papasan chair for my 21st birthday and it has followed me from home to home, never quite fitting  in, but how ever many times I have been tempted, and asked by Dan, to get rid of it, but I just cant. It was the first piece of furniture I ever owned and the first grown up birthday present I received. With the news that I am expecting a baby Moon and have a nursery to decorate I have yet again contemplated getting rid of my Rattan beauty but....

....I have just read makes a great nursing chair!! Looks like yet again my Papasan is saved... Hurrah!!

Meet the Sponsors....

Every Month Moon to Moon has a lovely selection of sponsors hand picked from Loads of emails every month requesting a Slot. Many of them are from large corporations and high street chains, that I do not feel reflect Moon to Moon or its readers interests. So I turn down the larger companies to highlight the smaller businesses who I feel comfortable and proud to work with....

I am extremely grateful to all the sponsors, long and short term that have supported Moon to Moon, and so have decided to start a monthly post, highlighting these wonderful artists and small businesses that I am proud to work with.

Beyond Marrakesh

Beyond Marrakesh is a small company based outside of Marrakesh and run by the wonderfully lovely Danielle. Beyond Marrakesh is my longest standing sponsor and I have seen Danielle's beautiful shop and stunning Guest House (check it out here) develop. I have the most beautiful Handira from Danielle's and even my boyfriend is obsessed.... the warmest winter blanket ever!!!

Wedding blankets, a vast selection of beautiful Moroccan pouffes and Beni Ourain rugs make Beyond Marrakesh a one stop shop for beautiful Moroccan goodies....

Soul Makes

Soul Makes is another small business that has been a Moon to Moon Sponsor for the best part of 2013. I first became obsessed with Soul Makes after receiving a stunning Jasper necklace (similar to this one) from the talented maker Mac back in Spring. I wear it everywhere and get so many comments on it!!
My current love and dream list item is their beautiful Night Hawk necklace (above left).... Swoon!!

Cosmic Bath and Beauty
Cosmic Bath and Beauty is a small etsy shop that is run by the talented Michelle. Michelle hand makes all the beautiful, affordable, natural products in the shop and has grown quite a collection.

Island Coconut body Butter is currently the product at the top of my wish list.....yum...

Star Native

Star Native is another small independent Etsy shop specializing in handmade earrings, necklaces and bracelets. I love the beautiful handmade orthoceras ring above and this stunning quartz point ring, both to small for my chubby fingers :)

La Vie Boheme Jewelry

la Vie Boheme jewelery is another independent shop owned by jewelery maker  and all round design talent Alice. I selected Alice's shop as I love the romantic, antique feel of her jewelery.... being a total long earring fan i love her beautiful intricate earrings...

If you would like to be a sponsor of Moon To Moon and feature in the next 'Meet the Sponsors' post, due out early December, perfect for Christmas shopping, then email me at  moontomoon@live.co.uk

(please bear in mind I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse as well as blogging so may not reply straight away)....

Slots come in 2 sizes

Luigi Prina and his Flying Model Ships

Luigi Prina's fabulous Flying machines

Have you seen the Studio Ghibli film, Laputa: Castles in the Sky? If so then you can probably relate to my love for Luigi Prina and his beautiful Flying Model Ships.

Luigi has been making aircrafts since he was a boy and won a national competition at just 16 years old. In his 60's, and working as a successful architect, Luigi was bet by a boat builder/friend that he couldn't make a flying ship. It wasn't long before Luigi had a built a little flying boat that wirrled around in his small studio. 20 years later Luigi has dedicated his life to making flying boats, bicycles and other unusual aircraft.

I personally think they are fantastic....

To see more images and a beautiful video interview with Luigi visit Colossal or Visit Luigi's website here to see his beautiful creations

Small Kitchens: Utilizing Space

hanging Pans: A well loved, well used kitchen
Small kitchen inspiration: shelves not cupboards
Small Pink Kitchen..... Love that painting!!
It's not a kitchen without Cookery books :)
Blue Kitchen Walls, Via Earths kitchen
Yellow pans
if you have a small kitchen and a tight budget, like me, it can be a bit of a struggle to find the space to keep your pots and pans, and plates.... especially if like me you would rather spend money on yummy food than the tiles you dream of  :)

I love the idea of shelves in the kitchen rather than cupboards.. I also love those rails with hooks... perfect way to utilize a small space and show off your best enamelware and dried herbs...
