The Papasan Chair...

The papasan chair

A cosy papasan chair, perfect for nursing a baby

Spell and the Gypsy collective, Papasan Chair

I got a Papasan chair for my 21st birthday and it has followed me from home to home, never quite fitting  in, but how ever many times I have been tempted, and asked by Dan, to get rid of it, but I just cant. It was the first piece of furniture I ever owned and the first grown up birthday present I received. With the news that I am expecting a baby Moon and have a nursery to decorate I have yet again contemplated getting rid of my Rattan beauty but....

....I have just read makes a great nursing chair!! Looks like yet again my Papasan is saved... Hurrah!!

firstly, congratulations!

papasan chairs are nice for snuggling in for nursing, yes. they can be a bit "tippy", but i have heard of people doing things to secure the top piece to the bottom via nailing or just creative tying. safer for when baby is pulling up on things, too.

later, when he/she is bigger, you can untie the pieces; small children LOVE to tip over the top piece and prop part on a box or sofa edge for a play cave or house, or just use it right-side-up on the floor as a "nest" or "boat"...sometimes they will even crawl into it for a nap of their own accord, or at least snuggle quietly looking at books. they like to be spun in them, too, on hard flooring...endless play fun.

Somehow I missed this post! Many congrats on your great news. And that chair has to stay. I have a long list of items I sent away which I now regret so much. x
