Untranslatable Words....




I just thought these illustrations of Untranslatable words from other cultures were really special and had to share with your guys. They are from Maptia

I'm german and I'm sorry but I've never heard of an existing word calles Waldeinsamkeit. It makes sense and I understand it but it's not a word...

dear german anonymous:
waldeinsamkeit is a word for sure! maybe not in this modern, anglicism loaded german - but read some classic novels or poetry then you will find it everywhere.
i even know 1 or 2 guesthouses with this as name.

and it does not mean to be lonely in the woods - it describes the romantic of a german wood - which possible only germans can feel ;-)
